What a great classmate my "boss" has!

I thought that I was thoughtfull to my "boss" for exchanging my car keys to hers few days ago when I was going to visit a school which my children might go next year.

I locked my car steering wheel as usual I do, suddently I realised that the key for the bar lock was not the ones I had that day.Gee! Big trouble! It took me about 15 minutes by car to come the school.

When I was going to take bus to get my keys from my boss, I got a great news that her classmate were giving her a lift to me. It save me much time and I could come back to my class much earlier if I took the bus to get the keys and the driving back.

Thanks her very much indeed!

Thanks all of my classmates who sent me their comments

I have more than enough comments for my listening tasks and I really appreciate what my classmates have done for me.

I wonder who need more comments for their task. Please let me know if you need any.

Our working hard classmates

There is no class for us because our teacher is not coming today. The head teacher told us that she was very ill yesterday.

I have a lot of work to do and I came to our class and I found that I am not the only one from my class-there are the other two of my classmates here.

They both live further than me and they have to take bus or/and train to here but I can just walk for about 10 minutes from my place.

Something you might not know about the OC.

I was told that the OC(opertunity class) was managed by the sate government.

I thought its the school's business only if they have better teachers there.

The teachers at the school which run the OC class said that it does not matter the teachers but it does matter the location. The Department of Education tried to find a school where it is convient to most of the local students who pass the OC test.

I found that the public school which has the OC class is smaller than the one my childre are attending right now, and one of the OC students of the OC school replied that his former school was big than his current one. A true story about the hospitals in Australia

A friend of mine told me that her son had an operation lately and her son should not stay in the hospital that long if she brought him to the right hospital which was children's hospital.

What happen to her son was he had a stamache and he was taken to a local hospital. She was told that her child needed an small operation but they could not do it for him because he was a child. I have never known this as every hospital which does operation in China, it certainly does operation for everyone, it does not matter how old he/she is.

Anyhow, her son was transfered to the nearest children hospital, but when he arrived there, the doctordouble checked with the child and found his conditions was not that serious as the other hospital
mentioned. In fact, the former hospital gave him the antibiotics before sending him away.

Then they left him for a while instead of giving him the operation right away. When he was given the operation, his conditions had beccomed worse.

"It would kill him if he was delayed a bit longer!" his mother claimed.

We can learn something from it, can't we?

Did I do the right thing?

I was sorry that I was late for my class these days for my child's orientation days and I have two more to go-the last one for my little boy who is going to school next year and the only one for my daughter who is going to another school next year. Both schools are new for them.

Because of them, I was late for my classes but I thought that I should put my children's business first as they say:"Children are our future." We can not live in the future but we can do something to make sure we and our children are having a great future.

It is time to finish today's study

It is 2:33 pm now and the class is over. Let's leave the classroom to do whatever for our life routine.

It is getting busier for our study

There are more tests after last school holiday than before.

I hope every taking easy with their studies. Look after themselves: remember to keep good health, try to get the balance with work, study, family/social life etc.

Some students are working very hard

There are still four students left in the classroom, but more than half students did not show up today.

What I remember is there were about 18 students in the class at the beginning of this term.

It is windy today

It is a windy day today. I hope that the bushfire has gone and no more bushfire from now.

We have a model essay plan from one of our classmates

One of our classmates submitted her plan to our teacher.

Our teacher showed her work to the others.

There lesser students in our class today

There are only six students in our class now. It is the lessest since the class started.

I have more work to do today

I thought that I had done my essay plan.

When I showed my plan to my teacher, he said that was not good enough.

I found that I have less posts than I thought

When I checked my post this morning, I found that I have six posts which were not the right ones my teacher wants-some were no titles and the others had no context in them. I deleted them.

Habibi

"Habibi"-that was the first Arabic word I was taught by one of my classmates.

A best classmate I have in TAFE

There is a little thing happen today and it made me feel a bit sorry about what I did do.

One of my classmates brought me another home made dish-a piece of pizza. He gave me five pieces of home made biscuits for all my family as I have three childen yesterday.

But I have not taste the pizza yet because I have my lunch after class. The crack I had last night was very delicious-not too much sugar in it,and it was just right.I should take something for him next time then.

The American government had closed for a while

I could not believ that a government of country had been closed for about two weeks and the country seemed OK-at least no big trouble happen during the period.

Another "hot" topic today in our speaking class

There was another "hot" topic which was about gays' marriage.

Some of my classmates said that should be baned because it was not the most people do.

The others argued that the gays have the same right to get marry because they love each other like everyone else in the world.

In my opinions, if the gays get marry and there will not make any troubles to our society, why they can not do what they want? They are human being-just different life style to the rest of  the world. If you are interesting about the topic, try this website:http://www.smh.com.au/comment/gay-marriage-act-law-seeks-to-fill-gap-in-federal-law-20131021-2vx2k.html

Let's say something for our teachers today

I have just known that today is world's teachers day.

Thanks one of my former classmates that she mentioned in her post.

She thanks one of our teacher in her post. I would thanks all of my teachers here at Macquarie Fields TAFE as I am studying EAP at the moment.

Certainly I thank all the teacher in my life who were helping me a lot.

What I would like to say here is all my EAP teachers are very helpful for my study. I can ask any questions it does not matter it is relative to my learning right now.

They do not mind I asked for help during the break(I tried to ask for a favor during the class time).
Our teachers try their best to help us to solve the problems.

Let's say thank you! Thank you! Thank you all!

Look these beautiful flowers.

We like flowers and our teachers like the gardeners.

Working smart is better than working hard

We were told to be working hard when we were young or we would be sorry when we are old.

The thing is we all have 24 hours a day only and it does not matter who you are, we are all the same for this point of view, right?

What I understand is that some people work very hard but the productivity, for example, if you are learning English and you spend an hour for reading, if you are on the wrong track: check evey word you are not sure, and you will find that you might get bore for such hard reading. Think about this, when you read an book which written in your mother tongue, do you check up every new word? You probably just guess the meaning, right? If we can get the main points for the book we read, we might not care about all the details.
You can watch this program to get more detail about working smarter-http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xtzRrZ4Ke_U

I found that our writing teacher is helpful

There was a kind of incident happen in our class this afternoon.

One of our classmates was a sort of angry with our writing teacher. I do not know the reason but actually I had the similar experience before-I said "how are you" in her language but she was angry:"Please don't say that again to me!"

Anyhow, I did make misjudge to our writing teacher before. But I found he is really helpful for us.
He is not just speaking to you the right way to do thing but print out the methods and gives to you.

We should appreciate what he has done to us.

Why we can not prevent the bush fire here?

"The bush fire had burnt about 200 properties around mine."our teacher told us this morning before the class.
Actually, there was very heavy smoke covered here in Macquarie Fields. That was the first time I saw grey smoke aound me since I moved in this area from 2006.It seemed that the bush fire was so close, maybe the nearby Simons beach was burnt. My "boss" remided me"keep the radio on and listen to the news."
How come Australia has bush fire one after another? The hot and dry weather was blamed, and the globe warming was named as the main reason for the bush fire.
Can we do something to save our lives and the trees?
The government should do something for it. What do you think?

Never give up for any excuses

There are some students miss today's class. The teacher seemed a bit dissapoint why they did not show up.The same thing happen yesterday and the day before.

They said that they had quit from the class because they thought the lessens were too hard for them.

It is not easy to learn a new language as an adult, but it does not mean you can not do it when  you missed the golden age for language learning. I understand that some people have the talent for language, howerver, if you do the right way, you certainly can learn a new language.

Some people suggest that the better ways are:

At the beginning, focus on your pronounciation learning. Try to copy the sound you hear as similar the native speaking.

Secondly, try to expand your vocabulary through step by step reading materials.

The last thing is grammar learning. We need grammar but we should not rely on it .

A warm ending for our second semester

There was another surprise for many of my classmates this morning break. We had a special "morning tea" together-three cakes especially the home made one which is from our very talent cake maker's hand who had baked the other one for our farewell part to our former teacher.
"I wish I could stay in this class for ever!"I said to one of our teacher who was invited to join us today,"What a warm class we have here!"
I thought it was someone's birthday in our class when I saw the cakes on the table but I was wrong. It was another farewell party for somebody but this time was a student. She is going to have a baby soon and we all wish her the best.

How can I improve my listening skill?

During today's listening class,I found that I still can't catch the main ideas.

What happen to my classmate

One of my classmates who is my buddy did come today and he left earlier yesterday without saying anything to me and even the teacher.

I tried to collect the handout for him yesterday afternoon but the teacher did  not let me.(He probably did not happy for his student who just left but said nothing-even an excuse)

It is unusual for me,I will say.It does not like the man I knew.
We even have a plan to meet each other this Saturday and today is Friday.

Anyhow,I will find out through email to him.

There is a "hot" topic in our class today

Our speaking class' topic was 'Plastic Surgery-Agree or Disagree?'
In group discussion, five of us all agree that it is necessay for people who had an accident on his/her body.

But for somebody who just wants to be more 'atractive' or 'popular' by others. We had a hot argument.

For the members who agree to have the plastic surgery on normal people,it was said that plastic surgery could make them more cofident.

I understand that every adult has the right to make his/her own dicision to have the plastic surgery or not.
I won't blame the person who has done the surgery. But if they are my friends or relatives who want my advices.I will ask:"Is this the most important thing for your life?""Have you thought about the side-effect?'
'Do you rely on your appear for your confident?'

Actually, something or someone is beautifull or not, different people might have different ideas, right?
Look at this photo here,I recon that many people would say he/she is lovely!

What I heard was some people did not like big nose and small eyes,do you like you big nose and small eyes,Miss/Mr Koral?
Is she pretty or ugly? What is your opinion?

We are in the same boat about our children's future in Australia

One of my classmates told me that he hoped his children could keep their culture. I totally agree with him.But how? In my opinions, people should keep their own culture and we can have a colourful world with multicultures. I understand that our children were born in Australia where is their motherland. But I do not think that most of the residents here like single culture here, don't you agree?Who wants one colour flower in his/her garden? So,let us do something for Australia future-a colourful garden in souther amisphere!

Our new teacher for speaking class

I found that our new teacher had much experience for teaching especially in EAP lesson(19 years). She can also speak Germen,Italian and Spanish(?). I have learnt something new such as re(short from about which I have never seen before) and lang(language). The most interesing thing atracting me is she was born here and she can not just speak and understand her mother toung which is Ukran(?) but she can read and write it as well. I told her that I hope my children can read and write Mandarin, not only speaking and understanding it.I wonder how she can do that. She went to a Ukran School here and took weekend Ukran class 3 hours per week. I might try her way then.
